Carlson & Carlson, Riverside
This historic "barn" structure sits opposite the southbound
tracks of Riverside train station. It was first used as a horse stable in
the early 1900's. It was later converted
to a gas station and then office building.
Zoning approved the expansion of the floor
area to 2,000 SF on each of two floors. The design
and detailing interprets the original "barn" appearance.
The stone base is original. Large openings were preserved, and the siding at the upper
story replicates board and batten siding of the period.
