Roxbury Community Center, Stamford
A Community Center was designed for a site
that was once a New England, Methodist church. It had burned to the
ground in the 1990's. The new center has spaces for a central meeting
hall, dance studios, meeting rooms, as well as a satelite library
and a child care center.The main meeting hall uses the shape of the
original church, but makes a simple "barn" profile with
a non-denominational appearance.
Community zoning denied the project. There is littel hope that the
association will be able to complete a building.
