Malloy Residence, Westport
The original house was designed by a disciple
of Frank Lloyd Wright, Aaron Resnik, in the same style as the celebrated
Prairie Houses. This addition to the north, consists of a library
/ media room on the main floor and a guest bedroom below. The library
is surrounded with glass doors opening to a perimeter walking porch
with deep roof overhangs. The design mimics the form and details of
an original screened in porch. Exterior finishes continue to express
the "simple", common materials used in a modern way - just
as Wright would have done.
CWA was given an AIA Design Award for this house project.
