Tempozan Marketplace, Osaka, Japan
Developers converted a shipping and warehouse
district on Tempozan Island in the Osaka Harbor into a new waterfront
development. A marketplace building of 140,000 s.f. was created by
adding onto a large old warehouse. CWA was charged with planning the
retail amenities with a "Festival Marketplace" concept.
It has thirty specialty shops, nine full service restaurants, twelve
fast food restaurants, an entertainment center court with a complete
theatrical stage and four night clubs.
CWA was the retail development &
design consultant to Enterprise Development Corporation - a division
of Rouse.
Cambridge Seven Associates, Inc. is
the architect of record.
