Columbus Park West, Stamford
This site is adjacent to Columbus Park in Stamford.
The concept progressed to a preliminary design and site loading study.
Two building towers were modeled on the computer. One is an apartment
building of 450 units and the other is a hotel of 100 rooms, with
meeting/ convention amenities.
The hotel is placed on the Washington Blvd. side, closest to Stamford
city hall. The apartment building is on the northern side facing the
corner that looks into Columbus Park. A four-story base supports the
towers with a single story of retail use at the street.
Brick with limestone accents is the material of choice for the exterior.
The massing and building shapes emulate traditional pre-war architecture.
