St. Andrew's Apartment Building, Stamford
CWA completed masterplanning, site-loading
analysis, and building modeling for a downtown Stamford site. The
proposal later stalled in zoning proceedings, and a poor economic
climate. The design considers a tower of 300 apartments rising above
the adjacent UCONN building to reach the views to the south and east
toward the Mill River Park and Long Island Sound.
The materials and building form respect UCONN's finishes along Washington
Blvd.. The tower block is an "L" shape in plan with about
14 units / floor. It rises 25 stories with a health fitness club at
the top of the parking structure, along with a green roof deck.
The development is planned to achieve LEED Gold certification.
